A new book… sort of

Union Pacific freight train in Cache Junction, Utah, 1897

Sunday night, I typed THE END on the draft of a haunted house novel titled Cache Junction. It’s not a Blackhawk book, but that town does get mentioned.

I’m proud of the book, even with the revisions I know need to be done. It’s the longest thing I’ve written (so far) and that was a goal I set a little over a year ago when I started the UCR Palm Desert MFA program. I’m headed to my third of five residencies in a couple days and I’ll be going in with this complete draft.

There’s been a lot of life happen since the last time I wrote something here and some of that has even been within the last few days. There are some things you need to know.

You might not see this book for a long time. I’m sorry. I am going to ardently pursue traditional publishing with this one. Right now, self-publishing is proving unsustainable. Book sales here have practically died. I get it. People are saving money because the world sucks and we don’t know when or if it will get better.

If you’ve bought a book from me, I am grateful. If you’ve reviewed it, rated it, or told a friend, I appreciate you.

So hang tight. We’ll see what happens next.
